Leeds United fans to rage at Julian Nagelsmann after unnecessary Anton Stach comments
Anton Stach has been magnificent for Leeds United since moving from Germany last summer.
The Whites signed the 27-year-old from Hoffenheim for around £17.4million and he’s certainly lived up to expectations at Elland Road.
Daniel Farke has heavily relied on Stach’s brilliance in his starting lineup, with the midfielder registering seven goal contributions in the Premier League this season.
The German star will now be hoping to return to the national team fold after impressing in West Yorkshire, but it doesn’t look like Julian Nagelsmann fancies him.
Julian Nagelsmann hints at Anton Stach snub despite Leeds United brilliance
Nagelsmann might have just threatened to derail Stach’s season after talking about his flaws.
The Germany manager doesn’t believe the midfielder has the required ability in the air, nor is he impressed with the former Hoffenheim star’s ball-winning qualities.
With the ex-Bayern Munich boss suggesting that Stach’s best position could possibly be in the centre of a back three, it feels like he doesn’t have the Leeds ace in his plans.
Speaking to the media via Florian Plettenberg on X, Nagelsmann said, “He’s doing well there, but he’s not exceptionally strong in the air and not a top ball-winner either. He’s also someone who prefers to have the game in front of him. In my view, his best position at Hoffenheim was the central role in a back three, from where he could drop into the number six position.”
Stach arguably doesn’t need these distractions at a time when he’s become a pivotal player for the Whites in their bid to survive in the Premier League.
The West Yorkshire outfit’s supporters will surely be raging at the German manager’s clearly unnecessary comments, which may have a mental effect on the midfielder.
Daniel Farke to make case for one Leeds star’s international call-up
While Stach’s dream of making the German national team for the 2026 World Cup may seem far-fetched, Farke can make a case for one of his other stars.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been exceptional for Leeds this season, scoring 10 Premier League goals in 25 appearances.

The England international has found his best form at Elland Road, and Thomas Tuchel now should have a dilemma over the striker’s inclusion in the Three Lions’ squad.
If one asked Farke, he would surely want to see players get recognition on the international stage, and Calvert-Lewin is one of the players who has made his case in the current campaign.
