Leeds United exits likely after Tyler Adams Elland Road arrival
Leeds United confirmed the signing of RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams Wednesday, 6 July and that surely casts doubt over midfield duo Adam Forshaw and Mateusz Klich.
Adams has previously worked with manager Jesse Marsch in Germany and joins Marc Roca in reinforcing the Whites’ midfield after Kalvin Phillips’ departure.
However, regardless of Phillips’ move to Manchester City, it would not be a shock to see Klich or Forshaw make way to give Marsch more room to play with in his budget.

Forshaw is out of contract in the summer of 2023 and it does make sense for Marsch to move the 30-year-old on and bring in a younger player that could suit his system more effectively.
Long-serving midfielder Klich is now 32 and is contracted to the club for another two years and it will be interesting to see if the Polish international will be content playing a bit of a lesser role under Marsch in the 2022/23 campaign.
Leeds have been very active in the transfer market thus far, but the Whites won’t have unlimited funds to continue to bring players in.
It would make sense for Marsch to choose Roca and Adams as his midfield pairing considering the transfer fees he’s paid for the duo.

It’s hard to see where Forshaw or Klich could fit into his plans for next season and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see at least one of them depart Elland Road in the coming weeks.
Both players have been great servants for the club over the years, however, it feels as if the overhaul this summer could spell the end for some of Leeds’ longest-serving players.
In other Leeds United news, the club have now opened talks with an ‘Incredible’ title-winning central midfielder to replace Kalvin Phillips and sign him along with Tyler Adams.
