Leeds United could be one step away from safety after stunning Premier League reveal

Leeds will be disappointed to have only come away with one point from their previous encounter.

Leeds were forced to settle for a point in a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday, and while it is a good point, the Whites will have expected more.

For the second time in three games, Leeds have been pegged back by a goal in the dying minutes, though they will take heart from the fact that they have picked up eight points at this stage in the season.

It’s a tally that may not seem overly impressive, but taking previous Premier League seasons into account, it bodes well for Daniel Farke’s side.

Leeds are one win away from the magic number

With two wins and just as many draws and defeats, Leeds currently sit 11th in the Premier League, four points above Burnley, who occupy the final relegation spot.

At this stage, positioning means nothing, though the number of points picked up certainly does, especially when compared with other teams who have faced a similar situation over the last few seasons.

In fact, in the last 10 years of the Premier League, no promoted side has ever been relegated after they picked up 11 points from their first 10 games, and Leeds are just one win away from that milestone.

On the flip side, only 20 per cent of those who have achieved less in that time frame have gone on to secure safety, though the Whites have some potentially favourable fixtures approaching.

Farke’s side host Spurs at the weekend, with encounters against Burnley and West Ham to follow, meaning they certainly have an excellent chance of reaching that 11-point milestone, or even surpassing it.

Daniel Farke deserves immense praise this season

Prior to now, Farke’s record in the Premier League was horrendous, and those who had reservations over him were certainly warranted to do so.

However, six games into the campaign, Leeds have shocked many, alongside Sunderland and even Burnley to an extent, when it comes to competing in the Premier League.

With all three promoted teams potentially able to reach that 11-point milestone, it shows just how much progress has been made at Elland Road since their last Premier League campaign.

For now, the Whites just need to take each game as it comes, with one more game to come before the next international break.
