Leeds United could announce Cheikhou Kouyate transfer in next 24 hours
Leeds United could announce the free-agent signing of Cheikhou Kouyate in the next 24 hours after fresh developments.
Daniel Farke has been hit by injuries in the middle of the park, with the likes of Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev ruled out long-term at Elland Road.
Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanka have picked up the baton left behind by the experienced duo, with Charlie Crew currently the next option in line.
As shared by TEAMtalk yesterday on 14 October, Leeds are expected to decide on the 34-year-old’s signing in the next 48 hours, with Farke having the final say.
Previously, journalist TBR Football [11 October], had reported that the Whites had agreed on a deal with the midfielder, with his medical already completed.
Leeds United to announce Cheikhou Kouyate transfer
Kouyate has consistently played Premier League football ever since joining West Ham in the summer of 2014.
The 34-year-old also enjoyed a fruitful spell at Crystal Palace before moving to Nottingham Forest, where he was used sparingly.

If Leeds do get the deal over the line, they will be getting a player with not just experience but also versatility.
Over Kouyate’s vast career, while he has primarily been deployed in the middle of the park, the veteran also has the nous to play at centre-back.
Farke’s squad has been depleted in recent weeks and the uncertainty of injuries due to the congested calendar would make the Senegalese an excellent addition to the squad.
However, only time will tell whether the German manager will want a character like Kouyate in his dressing room, with a potential announcement coming on 15 October.
