Leeds United can seal new transfer for Daniel Farke as ‘exceptional’ star now free agent

Daniel Farke will be hoping for a busy few days at Leeds United as the transfer window winds down at Elland Road.

The Whites have made 10 signings so far this summer, but there could potentially be the prospect of more bodies coming through the doors in LS11.

It looks like the German manager is still looking to add more depth to his squad to face the rigours of the Premier League, with RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner being linked with a move to Elland Road.

The West Yorkshire outfit may also want to look at reinforcing their engine room after Ethan Ampadu picked up an injury against Everton in the 1-0 win, and now have an opportunity to do so.

Besiktas terminate contract of Leeds United target Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been identified as a target by Leeds, and he’s now available on a free transfer.

Besiktas have terminated the 32-year-old’s contract, which had a year remaining on it, and a move to Elland Road could now potentially be on the cards.

The former Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder spent two seasons in Istanbul and was a key player for the Super Lig outfit when fit.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was once one of the biggest prospects in the Premier League, with Arsene Wenger calling him “exceptional”, as relayed by The Guardian.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain signs: What can midfielder bring to Elland Road?

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s return to the Premier League could potentially be the end the midfielder wants in his career, and Elland Road might be the perfect place for him.

While Farke seems to trust Ampadu, Anton Stach and Ao Tanaka, the German manager could do with more options in the midfield.

Surviving relegation from the English top flight should be the priority at the West Yorkshire outfit, but a good run in a domestic cup in LS11 would arguably be impressive.

Leeds lost to Sheffield Wednesday in the Carabao Cup on 26 August and were knocked out of the second round, highlighting the need for more quality on the bench.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has 235 Premier League appearances to his name, having won the league title, the Champions League and the Carabao Cup during his time at Liverpool.

The midfielder’s strengths lie in his dribbling, passing and taking set pieces, and the Englishman may be able to contribute immensely in LS11 if he can stay fit.
