Leeds to follow Crysencio Summerville injury development at West Ham as windfall can arrive
Leeds United will be keeping a close eye on Crysencio Summerville’s injury situation at West Ham for multiple reasons, including a chance to bring in money to Elland Road.
In West Ham’s FA Cup tie against Brentford, the Dutch winger appeared to pick up an injury, with reports out of East London suggesting Summerville has gone for scans.
The Whites sold the 24-year-old to the Hammers back in 2024 for £25million plus add-ons.
However, one of those add-ons could be reached later this month, bringing more money into Leeds, and that will depend on his injury situation now.

Why Leeds will keep an eye on Crysencio Summerville’s injury
Elland Road officials will be looking closely at London Stadium for an update on Summerville’s injury.
That is because when he was sold to West Ham, Leeds inserted plenty of add-ons in the Summerville deal, with one of those being linked to his international career.
If the winger receives his first international cap for the Netherlands while at West Ham, the Whites will land a windfall of around £4m.
With the former Leeds man in excellent form for the Irons, scoring seven goals in his last 10 games for East London, there was every possibility that call-up would arrive for the March internationals.
The Dutch national team head coach Ronald Koeman also presented the possibility, telling the media on 8 March: “A call for Crysencio Summerville this month is possible.
“Summerville is in great form at West Ham. He’s an important player in the Premier League, can play on both wings, and we’re watching him closely.”
With the upcoming international break to take place from 23–31 March, the West Ham man may have little time to recover, and Leeds will have to wait for that cash injection.
Summerville update could also boost Leeds’ survival and FA Cup chances
Nobody will be wishing any football player to sustain a longer-term injury, but if the update out of West Ham is negative, that could also be positive news at Elland Road.
With Leeds drawing the Hammers in the FA Cup, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side missing one of their key players will shift the odds in the Whites’ favour.
Additionally, it could also hurt the Irons’ own chances of surviving relegation, and in doing so, boost Leeds’ survival hopes.

There are plenty of permutations for the Peacocks when it comes to learning the extent of Summerville’s injury.
And either outcome may very well be welcomed at Elland Road over the next week.
