Leeds to be bearers of bad news as Daniel Farke can sign ‘world-class’ forward in one week
Leeds are yet to make a signing in the winter transfer market, but that could change shortly.
Leeds have been linked with a move for Union Berlin defender Danilho Doekhi, to bolster their defensive ranks.
However, Daniel Farke may have more concern over his attacking options, with only Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor pulling up trees for the Elland Road side.
The Whites may have the chance to sign a long-standing target in the near future after a new admission from a rival Premier League manager.
What did Marco Silva say about Leeds target Harry Wilson?
Leeds could sign Harry Wilson on a free transfer in the summer, if he does not sign a new contract with the Cottagers.
There were indications that he would sign a new deal at Craven Cottage, but the latest update from Silva suggests that is not the case at the moment, giving the Whites encouragement that they can sign him this month.
In quotes reported by Sky Sports, the Portuguese boss said: “I don’t know if I am going to have him in one week, 15 days, three months or at the end of the season, with good or bad news. I cannot guarantee anything.
“I know he will keep helping the team with goals and assists, and hard work, and now it is for the board and the player’s representatives. He is in a happy place, and so is his family, and we will try to do our best to keep him.”
The comments from Silva suggest that Farke’s side could possibly put a bid in and sign Wilson within one week, being the bearers of bad news for the 48-year-old.
Why Leeds have to push for Wilson deal this month
After Silva’s comments on the 28-year-old, the Peacocks have to make their move, they cannot afford to wait and hope that he does not sign a new deal with his current club.
Surely the LS11 outfit could tempt the West London club to sell with a nice offer, as they will not want to lose Wilson for free at the end of his contract.
Wilson has seven goals and four assists in 20 top-flight games this season, finally showing the potential that Jurgen Klopp once predicted that he had.
The ex-Liverpool boss said that Wilson’s shooting was “world-class” when he managed the Welshmen at Anfield.
The Yorkshire side can take advantage of the situation and add the former Reds gem to their arsenal, and take their attack to the next level, and perhaps aim for more than just survival in the near future.
The 67-cap international has a lot more than just “world-class” shooting these days, as he has shown his creative ability this season too, and he would be a great addition.
The 49ers could put their money where their mouth is, and seal a dream January deal for Farke.
