‘Leeds staff must move quickly’ as rivals jet out to watch Turgeman in new update

Leeds United have previously shown an interest in signing Dor Turgeman from Maccabi Tel Aviv but no move went through.

The Whites were desperate to bring a striker to Elland Road in the winter, but as the window slammed shut, no forward came in.

Adam Armstrong and Cameron Archer were targeted from Southampton before Daniel Farke was forced to deal with his already existing squad.

Looking ahead to the summer, a deal could be done for the Israel international if the powers that be move quickly in LS11.

Burnley send scouts to watch Leeds target Turgeman

As of December 2024, scouts in West Yorkshire are said to have been impressed by what they have seen from the 21-year-old this season [Daily Mail].

No official offer was tabled by the Whites, as a deal for Louie Barry was also eyed before the window came to an end in February.

That may prove to be a mistake, as the number nine has contributed to 22 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions.

Now, interest in Turgeman has emerged at Burnley and Rangers, who sent representatives to watch the Israel national team match on Tuesday (25 March) to watch the forward [Sport1].

This was seen as an ideal opportunity to get an impression of the striker’s abilities at the international level as he netted against Norway in a 4-2 defeat.

Reports don’t mention the presence of any Leeds scouts in attendance of the clash at Nagyerdei Stadion and as a result, they need to move quickly if they want to make a deal happen.

Leeds United must move swiftly to sign Turgeman

Hopefully moving into the Premier League next season, the Whites need a striker they can rely on to score goals on a weekly basis.

Joel Piroe has done that in the Championship but it is unclear whether he will be able to make the step up to the top division ahead of the new campaign.

As a result, bringing in Turgeman could prove to be wise as an option in the forward line given his age and superb goal scoring record.

Leeds will have to fight off interest from Burnley and Rangers but if they move quickly in the coming weeks, there is no reason why they couldn’t sign the Israeli number nine.
