Leeds’ social media team in line for big pay rise after brilliant Chelsea swipe
Leeds secured a brilliant 2-2 draw against Chelsea on Tuesday evening.
Daniel Farke‘ side were 2-0 down before goals from Lukas Nmecha and Noah Okafor secured what could be a vital point for Leeds.
The result takes the Whites to 15th in the Premier League, six points above the relegation zone, with 12 matches left to play.
The players were fantastic, but surely the social media team deserves all the plaudits after what they did after the final whistle.
What did Leeds’ social media team do after Chelsea draw?
Leeds‘ X account posted a brutal swipe at Chelsea by replying to a previous post from their win over the Blues in December after the result.
The Whites trolled Liam Rosenior’s side with an image of Okafor celebrating with a fishing emoji and the message, saying: “11k Chelsea fans reeling back their FT replies.”
It was an absolutely brilliant response, and they deserve a pay rise in the near future for their continued attempts to rattle the Stamford Bridge supporters.
How vital could that point be for Leeds?
Chelsea fans will be praying that the Whites get relegated, but the point they allowed may prove vital when it comes to the end of the campaign.
The Whites are six points above the drop zone, and a poor run of results could put them right back into the mix, with the Hammers just two wins behind them.
The fact they have taken a point from a team that is contending for the Champions League, will be an encouraging sign, but they are not out of danger just yet.
The job is not done yet though, they need to keep fighting and keep earning as many points as possible until top-flight survival is mathematically confirmed, and they cannot go down from the elite level.
Farke will be confident given their good form lately, but he will not be complacent, and he will not let his players get too excited about the point that they have earned.
There may well be a party mood at Elland Road at the end of the campaign, but right now, the focus is on getting the job done, and not going back down to the Championship and undoing a brilliant campaign that has had plenty of high points.
