Leeds ‘risk Patrick Bamford nightmare repeat’ amid latest transfer development
Patrick Bamford’s time at Leeds United has been somewhat of a disaster recently, and yet they may be about to repeat it with a fresh transfer.
Bamford has had it tough at Leeds United this season, with the 31-year-old making just 10 appearances and failing to score in any of them.
Injuries have played a huge role in that, one of which Bamford is still yet to return from and it’s turning his time at Elland Road into a living nightmare.
Not only for the player but also for the Yorkshire club, who are forking out a fortune in wages for a player who is yet to contribute to their promotion push this campaign.
You’d be forgiven for thinking that Leeds would learn from the mistakes of having an injury-prone striker on high wages. Unfortunately, it appears not.
Leeds may be set to make Bamford repeat
While Leeds will be keen to end their Bamford-infused nightmare, they may be about to repeat it with the signing of Callum Wilson who, according to TBR, is a target for the Whites.
On the face of it, it may not appear all bad. But a closer look into Wilson showcases exactly why Leeds must stay clear of the Newcastle man.
Wilson is a similar age to Bamford, with very similar, if not worse injury troubles while also being on considerably higher wages, believed to be over £100,000 per week [Leeds United News].
Leeds simply cannot afford to make another mistake when it comes to that type of profile and if the Whites are to progress, that must come under consideration.

Avoid Callum Wilson at all costs
While Wilson has showcased his ability to score goals in the Premier League, he simply isn’t someone you can rely on to stay fit.
For that reason alone, Leeds need to steer clear of any interest in the frontman and pursue other striking targets.
Of course, the primary goal for Leeds is to achieve promotion this campaign before any Premier League transfers are assessed.
With the potential of the club, matched with the pulling power should they achieve promotion, Leeds will be able to attract a far better calibre of player to Elland Road, with much better injury records and longevity to be had.
