Leeds pressure grows to pull off 35-year first at Everton after scenes elsewhere
Leeds United travel to face Everton on Monday evening.
Leeds beat Everton in their first game back in the Premier League, with a Lukas Nmecha penalty the difference between the two sides.
Daniel Farke‘s side pulled away from the relegation zone with a brilliant recent run that has seen supporters start dreaming of bigger things.
However, the stakes are now so much higher heading into this contest after what has happened elsewhere.

What would be a 35-year first for Leeds vs Everton?
Leeds ace Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be looking forward to facing his former club, but many Whites supporters may not, due to their recent record against that particular opponent.
They have not recorded a double over the Blues since December 1990, in the 1990/91 campaign, which was 35 years ago.
| Date | Match | Result | Venue |
| 25 August 1990 | Everton vs Leeds | 2-3 | Goodison Park |
| 16 December 1990 | Leeds vs Everton | 2-0 | Elland Road |
They need to secure victory at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, it is absolutely imperative after other events across the Premier League.
Why is it so important that they win?
It is so vital that the Peacocks secure all three points, as they are not out of the relegation race just yet, despite their positive results lately.
West Ham beat Sunderland 3-1 on 24 January at the London Stadium, to go five points behind the Elland Road outfit, which is catchable with 15 matches left to play for the Hammers.
To a lesser extent, Burnley also nabbed a 2-2 draw with Tottenham, which leaves the Turf Moor outfit 10 points behind the LS11 outfit.

Wolves should not be able to catch them, they have just eight points, which is 17 points behind the newly-promoted side, the Old Gold would surely need a miracle.
If Farke’s side lost to the Toffees, it could put them right back into the mix to go back down to the Championship.
It may still be a bit of a long shot, but anything is possible in the top-flight; another team could go on the type of run that the Whites did, and put themselves out of the danger zone when it really matters.
Farke needs to ensure that his players are in top shape, both physically and mentally, as the pressure is firmly back on, with the business end of the campaign rapidly approaching.
