Leeds predicted XI v Derby – Aaronson axed, first start handed out by Farke

Leeds United could make two changes to their starting lineup for the game against Derby County, with Daniel Farke counting on Patrick Bamford.

The Whites are set to welcome the Rams to Elland Road on Saturday (7 December) in the Championship, as the German manager looks to get his team back to winning ways.

At Ewood Park on 30 November, the Peacocks suffered a 1-0 defeat, with Todd Cantwell finding the back of the net from the spot in the first half.

Farke will undoubtedly look to make changes to his attack after they failed to make an impact against John Eustace’s team.

Patrick Bamford handed first Leeds United start

One change the German head coach could look to make would be handing Bamford his first start of the season.

The 31-year-old has been a peripheral figure at the Whites in the current campaign, playing just 77 minutes in the Championship.

In the loss to Rovers, the Englishman replaced Joel Piroe in the 69th minute and was a bit more impactful than the Dutchman.

Piroe has been a fantastic addition at Leeds all-in-all, scoring seven goals in the Championship, but the 25-year-old has arguably played his best football in the number 10 position.

Leeds United preicted XI v Derby

Brenden Aaronson has been underwhelming for some time now, and Farke could drop him from the starting lineup on Saturday.

Another position that could put the German manager in a dilemma is left-back, with the head coach confirming in his pre-match press conference that Sam Byram is out and Junior Firpo a doubt.

The good news for the Elland Road faithful is that Isaac Schmidt is back in training, and the Swiss could be called upon to fill the gap on the left-hand side of the defence.

After losing their place at the top of the league table, the Whites need to make a statement at Elland Road as they look to attain automatic promotion.
