Leeds must find way to recall Largie Ramazani now as crushing injury blow emerges at Thorp Arch

Leeds have had a strong start to the Premier League with Elland Road proving a fortress.

Daniel Farke’s side have picked up eight points in six games in the Premier League, 25 per cent of their points tally for their last stint back in 2022/23 already.

Injuries have started to creep in for Leeds, though, with the likes of attacking outlets Daniel James and Willy Gnonto suffering new blows.

Gnonto is out for a short period of time; however, James could experience a long spell on the sidelines.

With that news, all eyes could quickly shift to Largie Ramazani again.

Daniel Farke needs Ramazani

Ramazani featured 31 times for Farke’s side that achieved promotion last year, scoring seven goals and setting up another two in just 963 minutes of action, and shone with his pace and skill.

Ramazani was loaned to Valencia in August and has made three appearances from the bench, picking up an assist in his three-minute cameo against Getafe.

The winger started his professional career at Manchester United, where he made one senior appearance in a 2-1 loss to FC Astana in the Europa League.

The Belgian signed for Leeds from Almeria after their relegation to the Spanish second division. He accumulated 128 appearances for the club over four years.

Ramazani still supports the Whites, commenting on Joe Rodon’s social media post after Leeds’ 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

While it is unknown whether he has a recall clause in his deal in Spain, Farke may be forced to backtrack on his decision and find a way to bring the Belgian back to Elland Road.

Leeds attacking depth

Leeds have kept their main core from last season, with Joel Piroe, Gnonto, and James starting the first game of the season.

Farke also brought in the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Noah Okafor, and Lucas Nmecha.

However, the Whites still lack attacking depth and look as though they might struggle with the current injuries to Gnonto and James.

Three of the new signings are off the mark but don’t look as though they’re fully up to speed, with Calvert-Lewin having missed several big chances already this season.

Okafor netted his first goal away at Wolves, but has not shown many glimpses, causing Farke to demand more.

Fans online are calling for the return of Ramazani, so the question left is, will we see him in a Leeds shirt this season?
