Leeds may have already found answer to Premier League survival amid latest news
Leeds United are well on course to earn Premier League promotion this season and Daniel Farke may have already got them one step closer to survival amid the latest transfer rumours to have emerged.
The Whites have been one of the most dominant teams in the second-tier this term and even though they may have lost their last game against Portsmouth, they’re still at the top of the table.
Sheffield United and Burnley are, however, hot on their heels with both of them also within touching distance of first-place.
However, as long as Leeds can get themselves back to winning ways against Millwall on Wednesday, they’ll still be well in contention to go up.
And, with the latest rumours about the future of Kalvin Phillips that have arisen, Farke already looks to be preparing for Premier League life.

Phillips to make Leeds United return
In a fresh report from TEAMtalk (11 February), the ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’ seems to have reached a verbal agreement to make a return to Elland Road.
The report goes on to say that a fee worth around £20million would be required to pry him away from Manchester City which is a price Leeds could certainly afford if they do earn promotion to the Premier League.
Team | Position | Points |
Leeds United | 1st | 76 |
Sheffield United | 2nd | 76 |
Burnley | 3rd | 74 |
Sunderland | 4th | 68 |
Phillips’ form over the last couple of seasons may have left a lot to be desired but when his last campaign with the Whites is taken into account, it could be exactly what he needs to re-ignite his career.
For Leeds, his arrival could also be exactly what they need to help further shore up their midfield ranks and perhaps even help guarantee them Premier League survival next season.

Phillips returning to Elland Road is a match made in heaven
There’s no denying that Phillips’ best form in his career was under Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds.
In fact, his performances were so good that he managed to earn himself a £50million move to Manchester City which unfortunately hasn’t quite worked out.
If Leeds do get themselves back into the top flight, the return of Phillips would be a perfect way for their Premier League campaign to get started.
Granted, the West Yorkshire outfit do have the likes of Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka within set-up but Phillips’ return would likely help further solidify their defensive ranks.
Only time will tell if a deal can be struck but on paper, it’s a move which makes a lot of sense.
