Leeds have to achieve 25-year first if Daniel Farke is to extinguish sack talk
Daniel Farke remains under heavy pressure at Leeds United despite their 3-1 victory over Chelsea on Wednesday.
The victory moved the Peacocks out of the relegation zone. However, it remains to be seen if this will last, with West Ham possessing a game in hand.
With Liverpool up next, talk surrounding Farke’s future at Elland Road has refused to die down, with reports suggesting that the West Yorkshire club have already begun to identify potential replacements.
Therefore, Saturday’s match could prove to be crucial to the manager’s future at the Peacocks.

Leeds aiming to beat Liverpool at Elland Road for first time since 2000
Leeds have had a terrible time against Liverpool in recent years.
The Peacocks have won just one of their last 14 meetings against the Reds in what has been an awful record.
This includes a terrible 6-1 defeat at Elland Road in April 2023 as Leeds went on to be relegated from the Premier League.
In fact, the Peacocks have often struggled at home against Liverpool, with their last victory at Elland Road against the Premier League champions coming in 2000, in what was a 4-3 thriller.
Therefore, Leeds will be aiming to end this terrible trend on Saturday, and it may be the only way to save Farke for the time being.
Survival is no doubt the aim for Leeds, and a victory could put them six points clear of the relegation zone.
This would surely buy Farke extra time, especially with a kinder run of fixtures on the horizon.
What does Leeds’ December schedule look like?
After Liverpool, Leeds do have a kinder run.
An away day to Brentford follows, before Leeds take on Crystal Palace at Elland Road in their final fixture before Christmas.
After this, an away day to Sunderland follows on 28 December to round off the month.
| Opponent | Home/away | Date |
| Liverpool | Home | 6 December |
| Brentford | Away | 14 December |
| Crystal Palace | Home | 20 December |
| Sunderland | Away | 28 December |
Therefore, if a victory over Liverpool can be followed up with one or two positive results from these games, Leeds will be on track for a survival campaign.
