Leeds have one foot in next round of FA Cup amid latest Daniel Farke reveal

Leeds United have drawn Norwich City in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Leeds’ position in the Premier League has afforded them some breathing space to have a real go at progressing in the FA Cup.

And having secured a penalty shootout victory away to Birmingham City last time out, they certainly look set to make the most of that.

The Whites will host Daniel Farke’s former side, Norwich City, in the next round, with the game due to be played on the weekend of 7 March.

And Farke’s record against the Canaries should have Leeds fans feeling very optimistic.

What is so good about Daniel Farke’s record vs Norwich?

First and foremost, Farke has never lost a game in any competition against Norwich, despite having encountered them on six occasions.

The German has secured victory in four of them, while drawing the other two.

Leeds secured a 2-0 home victory against Norwich in their most recent encounter back in January 2025, with Manor Solomon and Dan James on the score sheet.

However, a 1-1 draw at Carrow Road in the reverse fixture earlier in the campaign prevented them from doing the double.

But what is even more promising is the fact that Farke’s side have conceded just three goals against Norwich in those six games, while having scored 11.

And while the draw should inspire Leeds fans to feel optimistic, it should do the same for several players at Elland Road.

Which players could be in for a chance vs Norwich?

Ao Tanaka was the man of the moment for Leeds against Birmingham, as was the case on many occasions last season in the Championship.

These are the games that allow him to flourish, but they could also hold an immense amount of importance for Joel Piroe.

The Dutchman’s lack of gametime at St Andrew’s last time out shocked many, given the fact that Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been sidelined and Lukas Nmecha has been leading the line in the Premier League.

This would, again, seem like the perfect time to utilise his skillset, but if not, then that speaks a lot about where his future lies heading into the summer.
