Leeds duo on thin ice ahead of ill-tempered Luton Town clash

Leeds United duo Joe Rodon and Wilfried Gnonto are in danger of picking up suspensions in Wednesday’s Championship clash with Luton Town.

The pair currently have four yellow cards each and are on thin ice, with a further booking leading to a one-game ban.

The Welshman has avoided a fifth booking since the 2-2 draw with Sunderland in early October (4 October) while the Italian picked up his fourth in the draw with Bristol City just over a month ago (26 October).

The Whites can not afford to lose either player with Sunday’s (24 November) thrilling 4-3 victory against Swansea being the first time that the starting XI has not featured both men.

The Hatters opponents have picked up 37 yellow cards and one red in 16 matches so far, so the contest could be trouble for Gnonto and Rodon.

The Whites have been blighted by injuries and suspensions this season, with first-choice left-back Junior Firpo missing a total of four matches following a suspension for picking up five yellow cards and then a ban for a headbutt against Milwall.

Daniel Farke’s could do without more setbacks as they seek to avoid the same fate as last season, when they finished third and missed out on automatic promotion in the final throws of the campaign.

The two Leeds stars must make sure that they do not let Luton get into their heads no matter how intense the contest may be.
