Farke can engineer huge Leeds win v Sheffield United with one simple decision
Leeds United have another crucial game approaching, with an away encounter with second-placed Sheffield United.
Leeds secured a massive three points against Sunderland last time out (17 February), but with another crucial clash up next, the focus must be on achieving a result.
Daniel Farke’s side remain in pole position to go on and achieve their ultimate end goal of promotion, knowing that a victory at Bramall Lane would do wonders for their chances.
As things stand, Leeds sit seven points clear of Burnley in third place, while having a two-point advantage over Sheffield United heading into the six-pointer at Bramall Lane, and Farke has a simple decision to make.
Championship top-four | Points |
Leeds United | 72 |
Sheffield United | 70 |
Burnley | 65 |
Sunderland | 62 |
Ethan Ampadu must be dropped for Leeds United
Sunderland took the lead at Elland Road on Monday night, and it is a goal that Ethan Ampadu will not be overly keen on watching back.
Wilson Isidor bullied the Welshman before firing the ball into the far corner of the goal, and if Ampadu is to remain in the back four against the Blades, Farke is risking the same thing happening again.
Ampadu struggled throughout the clash against Sunderland, and with Sheffield United posing a similar type of threat going forward, there is every chance that performance would be repeated.
Whether the Welshman could be moved into midfield or axed from the starting XI entirely, it would pave the way for another Leeds ace to start.

Pascal Struijk set for first league start since 1 January?
With a change needed in the shape of Ampadu, it opens the door for Pascal Struijk to come back into the starting XI for the first time in league competition since their 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers on New Year’s Day.
Struijk scored both goals against the Black Cats after coming on as a substitute, while looking far more capable at the back, which could prove crucial when up against the likes of Tom Cannon and Ben Brereton Diaz.
A win in this encounter would be absolutely massive for the Whites, and a return to the XI for Struijk would put them in a great position to go on and achieve that.
