Leeds and Daniel Farke will be delighted by Premier League announcement vs Sunderland
Leeds will be looking to bounce back from defeat against Man City with a win over Sunderland on Tuesday night at Elland Road.
The Whites were perhaps unlucky not to secure a result against the Citizens, with only Antoine Semenyo’s goal separating the two sides.
The LS11 club still face relegation worries, but they hold a much better position than their rivals.
They currently have given themselves a six-point cushion over West Ham in 18th place.
Daniel Farke will now be looking to strengthen that position against Regis Le Bris’ Sunderland, and they have been given a good omen.

The good omen Leeds have as Stuart Atwell appointed referee vs Sunderland
Stuart Atwell has been named as the referee for Leeds’ game against Sunderland, as per the Premier League.
The referee will be joined by Constantine Hatzidakis and Hristo Karaivanov as his linesmen at Elland Road. Meanwhile, Paul Tierney will be assisted by Ian Hussin on VAR duties at Stockley Park.
Leeds and Farke will be happy to see Atwell take charge on Tuesday night, as their record with the West Midlands official leans in their favour.
The Whites have a 53 per cent win rate with Atwell as referee at Elland Road, losing just four games from 13 at their home ground across all competitions.
| Result | Total |
| Wins | 7 |
| Draws | 2 |
| Losses | 4 |
They have also picked up 26 points out of a possible 39 points in those matches.
However, two of those losses have come against superior opposition, with Arsenal winning 4-0 this season and Man City beating Leeds 3-1 back in 2022-2023.
Last season, Atwell did take charge of this same fixture in the Championship, with Farke’s side winning 2-1 against the Black Cats.
What is Farke’s record against Sunderland?
That aforementioned win against Sunderland is actually Farke’s only victory over the Black Cats throughout his time in England.
The German has faced the Mackems on seven occasions, with the majority of them ending in a draw.

Farke has drawn four and lost two besides last season’s victory, and he will be hoping to tie up his record in terms of wins and losses, and there is every chance he can.
Le Bris’ side have picked up just one point from their last 12 available, while Leeds have secured five in that same run.
Three points could be crucial here.
