Largie Ramazani regret sets in at Leeds United after what’s been said about Dan James

Largie Ramazani’s exit from Leeds to Valencia was not particularly well-received.

Leeds failed to make the most of the summer transfer window, and that was only amplified in the latter stages when the Whites failed to replace Ramazani.

A loan move to Valencia came to fruition for Ramazani, who has already made a big impression in the Spanish top flight.

However, while Leeds will have had their reasoning for sanctioning his exit, regret may be starting to set in because of how Dan James has started the season.

Welsh media give Dan James 5/10 after Canada defeat

James was influential for Leeds in the Championship, but concerns have often been raised about his ability to transition to Premier League football.

So far, the Welshman has shown very few signs of promise and has also failed to build any real form while away with Wales.

James started in Wales’ 1-0 defeat to Canada on Tuesday, with news outlet Y Clwb Pel-Droed rating him 5/10 for his display.

James’ record in his last eight competitive games.

They added: “Another player who failed to impress for Wales, struggling to make a major impact on the game despite his pace, as ever, being difficult for any opponent he faces.”

Given his struggles, Leeds will surely be starting to regret the departure of Ramazani, who appeared to be tailor-made for Premier League football.

How Dan James fared for Wales vs Canada

It was another day to forget for James, who, despite playing the full 90 minutes for Wales, failed to create any chances in the game.

Via Fotmob, he completed just one of his two attempted dribbles in the game, with an identical completion rate when it comes to crosses.

With an 83 per cent accuracy, his passing was tidy, but just as it often is at Leeds, many of those passes were sideways or backwards, with the winger posing a minimal threat.

Farke has his favourites at Elland Road, and James is one of them, but if Leeds are to achieve survival, he is one player who needs to be axed from the starting 11 until form starts to pick up.
