Karl Darlow could be first Daniel Farke signing at Leeds United amid Sky Sports transfer update

Leeds United have finally appointed a new manager, with Daniel Farke taking over in the Elland Road dugout on a four-year deal.

As confirmed by the official Leeds website, the German boss succeeds Sam Allardyce, with the latter leaving the club upon their relegation from the Premier League.

Farke certainly has a long to-do list this summer ahead of the new Championship campaign, although it seems he already has a leg up in terms of one potential new signing.

As per Sky Sports (3 July), the Whites are already locked in talks with Newcastle United to sign goalkeeper Karl Darlow.

However, the report from Sky Sports noted that the West Yorkshire outfit are involved in a battle for his services with Premier League club Bournemouth. A permanent deal for the Magpies goalkeeper is likely, but his final destination remains unknown.

If Leeds do win the race, Darlow would seemingly seal Farke’s first signing at his new club, with Leeds supporters desperate for it to be the first of many.

Goalkeeper is just one area in which the Whites need to strengthen this summer, with the futures of Joel Robles and Illan Meslier both up in the air.

The club obviously want to bounce back into the top flight on the first time of asking, but that is much easier said than done.

It will, however, be made much easier if Farke can bring in new faces such as Darlow, who would undoubtedly improve the club thanks to his Premier League experience.

The 32-year-old also boasts plenty of Championship experience, most recently playing in the English second division while on loan at Hull City last season.

In other Leeds United news, one manager is now ready to exchange documents to sign one Whites player.
