Josh Brownhill transfer: Leeds United ‘must keep eye on late deal’ with Burnley

Leeds United must remain active in the transfer window while there is still a chance to sign Josh Brownhill.

The Whites are yet to make a signing this winter but have been looking to add to their squad before the 3 February deadline.

This has seen links to the likes of Cameron Archer arise [Ben Jacobs] but Daniel Farke is having to maintain patience to get a deal over the line.

The head coach could utilise this to attempt to make another late swoop after an update over the availability of the Burnley midfielder.

Leeds United must keep eye on Josh Brownhill deal

The 29-year-old is yet to sign a new contract at Turf Moor and will become a free agent at the end of the season if he doesn’t find a new club.

That is unlikely to be the case as there are many sides interested in securing the signature of the Englishman.

This has seen the likes of Brentford, Everton and Wolves show a late interest in Brownhill who is said to be “one to keep an eye on” at this late stage of the window [Alex Crook].

Farke’s side showed an interest in him over the summer [TBR Football] and could now reignite this interest to challenge these Premier League outfits.

The midfielder has scored nine and assisted four in the Championship so far this season and may take some convincing to leave the Burnley top-two chase for Elland Road.

Given that the Whites are sitting top of the Championship and are hopeful of promotion which could be an attractive prospect.
