Jamie Shackleton Leeds United loan exit could open door for more Elland Road arrivals

Leeds United have confirmed that Jamie Shackleton has joined Millwall on loan and that could open the door for more arrivals to come through the door at Elland Road.

The Whites have been extremely active in the transfer market thus far having spent over £90million on new players for Jesse Marsch to utilise.

However, departures from Elland Road will inevitably need to happen to allow the consistent flow of transfer business to continue.

Shackleton has followed Charlie Cresswell in joining the London club as Marsch looks to loan out some of his younger players to potentially make more room in his Leeds United squad.

Leif Davis is another name that could exit the club with Football League World reporting on 18 July that the defender could join Ipswich on a permanent deal.

If Davis joins Shackleton and Creswell in leaving Elland Road this season then there is a good chance that more new additions will be added to Marsch’s squad.

Leeds have a good array of midfield options to choose from, which makes a striker the most likely position for the American to look at in the coming weeks.

The Whites have been eagerly tracking Club Brugge forward Charles De Ketelaere and PSG striker Arnaud Kalimuendo.

Furthermore, according to L’Equipe on 17 July, Leeds are also interested in Rennes attacker Martin Terrier.

Now Marsch has made slightly more space in his squad there is every chance that Leeds can make further signings in the coming weeks.

A striker, left-back and potentially a central defender should all be at the top of the American’s hit list.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites now want to sign this striker with a rival set to kickstart a major £30million+ transfer battle
