James Trafford to Leeds United makes perfect sense after what Elland Road insider revealed
James Trafford could quite easily be Leeds United’s first summer addition.
Daniel Farke has done a terrific job to get Leeds in the position they are in now, with a healthy cushion over the bottom three.
However, there has been one clear area of the squad that has hindered their ability to progress even further, and that is easily in goal.
Lucas Perri has been woeful, if we’re being honest, and Karl Darlow has been unable to add any more quality since he was drafted back into the starting 11.
But with what has been said about their summer recruitment plans, Farke may only have to wait a few months until that concern is rectified.

What has been said about Leeds United’s summer business?
The first season back in the Premier League is all about staying up, and with 12 games to be played, Leeds are well-positioned to achieve that.
Their second season will be about consolidation, and their transfer business done in the summer will likely reflect that.
A report from Adam Pope via BBC stated that Leeds are looking to prioritise the signing of a “top-class” goalkeeper, as well as another striker to alleviate the pressure that has been on Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
And Trafford is a perfect match for that desire, having shown his ability throughout his time with Burnley, as well as at Man City on the rare occasion he has made an appearance.

The likelihood is that Trafford will be on the move from his boyhood club once again in the summer, and it would be an absolute no-brainer for Leeds to prioritise a move for him.
James Trafford may not be the only new goalkeeper signed at Leeds
Darlow and Illan Meslier are both out of contract in the summer, and having failed to showcase their worth over the last 12 months, it’s a fair assumption to make that both of them will leave.
However, despite only joining in the summer, there’s also a case to be made that Perri could be on the move, having been linked with an exit from Elland Road in January.
If he were to stay, he would be the second choice, and with the Whites going to have to adhere to PSR rules, it would make very little sense to keep someone of that value on the bench.
We could easily see two goalkeepers arrive at Elland Road in the summer, and potentially even a third if Perri is to be sold.
