Jaka Bijol set for Leeds United heartbreak vs Brighton after what Daniel Farke just said

Jaka Bijol has shown Daniel Farke exactly why he should be starting for Leeds United against Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Slovenia international was solid as West Ham United were beaten at Elland Road on 24 October after two quick goals from the Whites in the 2-1 victory.

Farke’s team travel to the Amex Stadium next on 1 November as they look to build on their success against the Hammers.

While the former Udinese centre-back will hope to keep his place in the starting lineup after an incredible display in LS11, he may be set for heartbreak.

Pascal Struijk to return to Leeds United starting lineup vs Brighton

Bijol has had to bide his time for opportunities this season, but took it with both hands in the win over West Ham.

While fans were impressed by how well the defender played alongside Joe Rodon at Elland Road, the Wales international could potentially have Pascal Struijk back by his side in East Sussex.

The Dutch centre-back missed the game against the Hammers due to illness and ended up being an unused substitute on the day.

However, the 26-year-old seems to be fully fit now, as speaking in his pre-match press conference on 30 October, Farke said, “Everyone is available, lots of competition. Willy has had his first full training week, we’ll see if we take him with us.”

Farke has revealed there are no illnesses or injuries to report from Thorp Arch, leaving the German manager with a major decision to make over his starting lineup against Brighton.

Rodon and Struijk have been a reliable partnership for the West Yorkshire outfit, and it wouldn’t make sense for the 49-year-old head coach to tweak that when not necessary.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin call vs Brighton will say a lot about Daniel Farke

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been underwhelming at Elland Road since moving to the Whites for free in the summer.

While the Englishman works hard for Leeds, he isn’t a reliable outlet for them, scoring just once in seven appearances.

If Farke continues to trust the 28-year-old against Brighton, it means he has complete faith in the former Everton striker, leaving Joel Piroe with a decision to make about his future.

It seems like the former Norwich City boss doesn’t feel the Dutch forward fits into the current system in LS11, which is undoubtedly concerning for him.
