Illan Meslier ‘sale imminent’ as Leeds United transfer wanted
Illan Meslier doesn’t have a lot of support among the Elland Road faithful after his recent performances at Leeds United.
The French goalkeeper was at fault twice as the Whites dropped two points in the 2-2 draw in the Championship against Swansea.
Daniel Farke subsequently relied on Karl Darlow on the trip to Kenilworth Road on Saturday as the Whites drew 1-1 to Luton Town.
The West Yorkshire outfit have dropped out of the top two after three consecutive draws, and it will be a nervous few weeks for the fans as they hope for automatic promotion.

Leeds United let down by Meslier this season
Meslier has let the Peacocks down on multiple occasions this season, with consistent errors in between the sticks.
While there’s no doubt the 25-year-old has shown glimpses of his talent at Elland Road over the years, he can’t seem to stamp out his mistakes.
Competition (2024/25) | Player | Goals conceded | Goals prevented | Errors led to goal |
Championship | Meslier | 27 | -2.73 | 3 |
Without a reliable number one, it’s going to be difficult for the Whites to get back into the Premier League.
Even if Farke manages to get the West Yorkshire outfit promoted through the play-offs, they may want to reinforce their goalkeeping department next summer.

Conan Ledesma transfer the end of Meslier at Elland Road
There seems to be no way back for Meslier at Elland Road after his latest errors, and a move away would be best for both parties as things stand.
Darlow’s inclusion in the starting lineup indicates that Farke has lost faith in the former Lorient goalkeeper.
There’s no doubt the 25-year-old is a better goalkeeper with his feet, but his shot-stopping abilities have been questionable, leading to the Whites’ current predicament.
Leeds are showing interest in River Plate star Conan Ledesma [Estadio Deportivo], which could potentially mean the end of Meslier at the Peacocks.
The news outlet reports (7 April) that the 32-year-old Argentine’s entourage prefer a move to Elland Road next summer.
Farke’s future will also be scrutinised if the Whites fail to win automatic promotion from the Championship, and things don’t look promising right now.
Burnley have taken top spot after recent results, with Sheffield United second, one point ahead of the West Yorkshire outfit.
The Elland Road faithful won’t be able to forgive Meslier if the Peacocks fail to achieve their goals once again this season.
