‘Igor Paixao next’ as Leeds United announce new transfer

Leeds United have not yet given up their pursuit of Igor Paixao.

With the Premier League campaign set to get underway in less than a month, Leeds have made some pleasing progress on the recruitment front, though there is still a lot left to do.

Signing a striker and a goalkeeper remain high up on the list of priorities at Elland Road, with Daniel Farke also seemingly keen on adding a new winger to his ranks as well.

Paixao had been heavily linked to satisfy those needs, and a deal may still be on the cards for the Whites.

Leeds announce Anton Stach signing in major new coup

Leeds’ business was underwhelming towards the start of the window, but that has since started to shift with the additions of Sean Longstaff and Aton Stach.

Longstaff has already made an impression, while the profile of Stach is one that will be certain to get Leeds fans excited ahead of the Premier League campaign.

The German’s arrival was officially announced on Tuesday (22 July) after weeks of speculation, and Leeds will be looking to follow that up with several other additions.

Paixao’s transfer to Marseille seems to have stalled over the last few days, and the Whites may be able to swoop in and conclude an agreement of their own.

The Brazilian registered an impressive 26 goal contributions in the league last season for Feyenoord.

Farke needs more at Leeds

As good a signing as Stach is and will prove to be, it is concerning that the two biggest weaknesses are yet to be addressed.

Leeds simply have to sign a striker before the season gets underway, with a goalkeeper set to be just as important.

Meanwhile, several players could leave Elland Road in the coming weeks, setting up for what could be an exciting period of the summer.
