Leeds United have finally learned their opening Premier League fixtures as they await their return to the top flight.

Excitement around the Peacocks’ return has only heightened since the fixtures were released on Tuesday, with Everton first up at Elland Road.

Some stunning games were announced, with Leeds set to take on Manchester United on 3 January, the anniversary of their famous 1-0 victory over the Red Devils in the FA Cup.

With transfer rumours continuing to circulate, the Elland Road faithful are keen to know how Leeds will line up for their first match of the campaign against Everton.

MOT Leeds News has attempted to predict who will be in Daniel Farke’s starting XI.

Habib Diarra one of several signings to start for Leeds

Leeds United know that they need signings if they are to stay in the Premier League this summer.

Therefore, Farke has been given £100million to spend to ensure that the Peacocks stay in the top-flight.

Against Everton, a new goalkeeper is a must. Illan Meslier is linked with a Leeds exit after a poor campaign.

Jayden Bogle and Joe Rodon both keep their place at the back, with Jaka Bijol joining the Welshman at centre-back.

Bijol looks set to sign for Leeds in the coming days as Farke reinforces his defensive options.

Next to the Slovenian international is Alex Moreno, with Junior Firpo set to depart Elland Road

Into midfield, Ethan Ampadu starts as a holding defensive anchor, as he captains the Yorkshire side to their Premier League return.

Ao Tanaka keeps his place after a sensational Championship campaign. His partner in crime is Habib Diarra, with Leeds possibly close to a green light with Strasbourg to sign the midfielder

Onto the wings, Daniel James stays in the line-up, with Manor Solomon on the opposite flank as rumours circulate that he could return to Elland Road after his loan from Tottenham.

Left-back could be an issue for Daniel Farke

Firpo was easily one of Leeds’ best players last season, and his impending departure will be a massive loss for the Peacocks.

However, his potential replacements are not encouraging.

Leeds-linked Moreno has plenty of Premier League experience, but there are doubts that he could match the Spaniard’s output after spells at Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.

Hopefully, Farke looks at other options, or this could be a big concern for their opening match against Everton.
