Gus Hamer transfer to Leeds could finally be on cards after Sheffield United developments
Gus Hamer has been a Leeds United target for several years.
Leeds will be no stranger to the fact that relegation is still a strong possibility this season, despite their positive start.
The Whites have accumulated 11 points from their first nine games, which has never seen a promoted team relegated in the history of the Premier League.
However, when January comes around, there will be no time for them to rest on their laurels, and transfer business will be required.
With that in mind, after failing in a last-ditch attempt to sign Hamer on deadline day, a move may now be on the cards this winter.

Gus Hamer has signed with a new agency
Hamer was linked with Leeds well before he made the move to Sheffield United, where he has since spent the last three seasons.
However, after the Blades lost out on promotion to Sunderland in the play-off final in May, many assumed that the Whites would finally be able to get their man upon their return to the top flight.
That was never the case, though, just last week, the Dutchman signed with a new agency, which could be an indication that he is looking to move in the winter.
Hamer has signed with Team Raiola, as confirmed via a post on his Instagram account.
His new agency is also responsible for the likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Micky van de Ven and Gianluigi Donnarumma, all of whom are currently playing in the Premier League.
How has Gus Hamer fared at Sheffield United?
The downfall at Bramall Lane since their defeat to Sunderland is one for the ages, with the Blades having won just three of their 12 fixtures so far this season.
In that time, Hamer has registered two goal contributions, but has been far from his best.
However, his numbers last season were outstanding, and it demonstrates why it is still a deal worth looking at for Leeds.
Hamer scored 10 and assisted eight in all competitions for the Blades, which was his second-best career tally, only bettered by his 21 G/A season with Coventry back in 2023.
So far this season, FotMob has recorded 13 chances created by the Dutchman, with an expected assists of 2.38.
It shows that he has been performing and has ultimately been let down by the players around him when it comes to his own numbers.
Leeds could do far worse than Hamer in January, and rumours will no doubt start to emerge as the window draws closer.
