Georginio Rutter should be dragged at half time after stinker in Leeds United v Plymouth
Georginio Rutter suffered a terrible start to the game between Leeds United and Plymouth Argyle, and he should be taken off at half-time for a rest.
Rutter failed to test the opposition going forward despite Leeds’ impressive display and lead through Joel Piroe and Daniel James, but the Frenchman has done nothing to help.
The creativity of his teammates has not been replicated by Rutter, and his usual dangerous creative style has been stifled by a tight Plymouth defence.

From four attacking dribble attempts, Rutter has completed just one, giving the ball away sloppily and often overdoing it in possession as he tried to break down the tight back line of the visitors. [Sofascore]
On top of that, a passing accuracy of just 47%, 32 touches, a 42% duel success rate with just three successful from seven attempts, and having lost possession 16 times just illustrate how frustrating his game has been and how easily he has been for Plymouth to deal with.
His usual direct, quick-thinking and creative style was not allowed to flourish by a low block in defence and his link-up play often cost Leeds in dangerous areas where better decision-making would have allowed them to further their lead.

Two interceptions and a tackle show that he worked hard off the ball, but with Wilfried Gnonto eagerly awaiting a call from the bench, the best option for Daniel Farke may be to drag Rutter off at halftime and bring on another option to reinvent their attacking play.
Whether it’s Gnonto, Patrick Bamford or Jaidon Anthony called upon, any of them could have more of an impressive first half than what Rutter has managed, he may well need a well-earned rest.
In other Leeds United news, David Prutton has made a claim about Pascal Sruijk.
