Fixture congestion awaits Leeds United despite best efforts to play
Leeds United have seen their Premier League game against Liverpool rearranged for Wednesday 23 February which makes it a very tough week.
The game was originally scheduled for Boxing Day but the Whites were forced to call the game off with COVID-19 spreading within the senior team.
Leeds have been one of the few teams determined to play as often as possible but the festive fixture couldn’t be fulfilled to the disappointment of everyone involved.
The rearranged game now gives Marcelo Bielsa’s side an incredibly tough six days during which they will face three of the best teams in the country.
They welcome Manchester United to Elland Road three days prior to the Anfield trip before Tottenham Hotspur make the trip north to Yorkshire another three days later.
United, Spurs and Liverpool are all fighting for either a top-four place or the title outright so the Whites are not expected to get much from those games.
Based on that then, if Leeds can come out of that horrid week with even just one point, it should be seen as a big plus point in an otherwise tough season.

They are not quite out of relegation trouble just yet but they aren’t the only ones nervously looking over their shoulder and Bielsa has to remind them that these types of games aren’t going to define their season.
It is almost a free hit of a week where they can just try something different and see if they can’t spring a surprise.
Liverpool especially may be resting players as they have the Champions League knockouts fast approaching and they will want to keep star players such as Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk fit for those games at any cost.
Leeds may be the lucky team who Jurgen Klopp decides to rotate his starting 11 against.
In other Leeds United news, this club has reportedly said they will sell this Leeds target in the summer.
