Farke to axe Piroe in three changes – Leeds United v Bristol City predicted XI

Dan James and Sam Byram are predicted to return in three changes to the Leeds United starting line-up to take on Bristol City at Ashton Gate on 26 October.

Junior Firpo will miss the Championship clash due to suspension and Daniel Farke could also be without Largie Ramazani after he seemed to pick up an injury in the 2-1 win against Watford on Tuesday (22 October).

Mateo Joseph could also find his way back into Farke’s line-up after Joel Piroe was taken off in the 72nd minute of their game against the Hornets after failing to have much of an impact.

Dan James should be given his first Leeds United start since August

Illan Meslier will no doubt be starting the game with the Frenchman finding himself on something of a redemption arc since his catastrophic blunder against Sunderland earlier in the season.

Jayden Bogle could also assume his role as right-back as he has done so across the season thus far.

Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon are likely to once again be looking to put in another formidable performance and will hope they can keep Bristol’s attackers away from Leeds’ goal.

Left-back is the first area on the pitch Farke will have to make changes in as Firpo will be suspended for the clash. Both Sam Byram and Isaac Schmidt are valid options to fill the void but it’s more likely that the former will be chosen to increase Leeds’ defensive stability.

In defensive midfield, the dynamic duo of Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanaka will likely be the anchors of the squad because it’ll still be too early for new signing Josuha Guilavogui to be entrusted with a starting role but he could make a cameo appearance.

James should get the nod over the injured Ramazani at left wing and could have a major impact on the game if chosen, Manor Solomon is another valid option but the latter has seemed off-pace in recent weeks.

On the right, Leeds’ star man Willy Gnonto will be helping lead their attacks and will no doubt have a say on the outcome of the clash.

Brenden Aaronson’s redemption arc will also likely continue and after his most recent outing against Watford, it’s hard to see why Farke would drop his number 10 from his starting XI.

Last but not least, leading Leeds’ attacking line could be Joseph. The Spaniard has been interchanged with Piroe throughout the season and after the Dutchman was taken off before the end of their game against Watford, the youngster could be in with a shout of being given a starting spot with the more senior forward being axed.
