Farke to axe midfielder in two changes – Leeds United predicted XI v Burnley
Daniel Farke could look at dropping Brenden Aaronson from his Leeds United starting XI as they gear up to face Burnley on Monday.
While the United States international managed to put on a decent display in the Whites’ 2-0 victory over Norwich last time out, it feels like he’s due a rest after playing most of the West Yorkshire outfit’s game this season.
The other change we could see from the German is dropping Joel Piroe for Mateo Joseph.
The strikers have been playing musical chairs since the 2024/25 season kicked off but after Piroe’s absent performance against the Canaries, it feels like the Spaniard deserves another chance up top.

In between the sticks will of course be Illan Meslier, the Frenchman has been Farke’s number one since the start of the season and it’s highly unlikely that Karl Darlow will get the nod.
The back four is likely to stay the same after their dominant performance last time out with Jayden Bogle and Sam Byram in at full-back while the Welsh wizards Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu will hold the fort down at the heart of the defence.
Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell are both also expected to keep their place in the starting XI after their dynamic partnership seems to have been rekindled due to Ampadu moving into the back line.
Attacking midfielder is where we’ll see our first change with Aaronson being dropped to the bench with Gnonto taking his place. The Italy international could be key in opening Burnley up due to his pace and keen eye for goal.

It would be a massive shock to not see Dan James and Manor Solomon keep their place on either flank after their performances against Norwich were one of the main reasons Leeds left with all three points.
Last but not least, Joseph will come into the team for Piroe due to the amount of energy he could bring to the starting XI and the fact he could split Scott Parker’s defence in two with his darting forward runs.
