Farke may need to abandon Essugo transfer after Leeds United update
Leeds United have had a brilliant Championship season so far as they sit second and look towards promotion to the Premier League.
However, with plenty of football yet to be played, Daniel Farke’s side needs to keep their foot on the gas to end the season in the automatic promotion spots.
Therefore, with the January transfer window approaching, the German will be looking at the market to make sure he can make the necessary additions to strengthen his side.
One name that the Whites have been linked to is Dario Essugo after the club failed to secure his services in the summer transfer window.
The Sporting CP midfielder is in high demand though with reports of Premier League sides including Nottingham Forest and Chelsea interested in securing his services [Ontheminute].
Daniel Farke needs to walk away from Dario Essugo transfer
There’s no doubt that if he made the move to Elland Road, Essugo would be a good addition to Farke’s side and do well in the Championship.
However, it doesn’t look like it will be easy to secure the player and with that in mind, the manager needs to keep his mind fixed on the current aims of his club and walk away from this transfer rather than getting involved in the web.
The interest in the young player from top-flight clubs already makes the Whites the underdog in this transfer race and although he would be a solid addition, a midfielder is not the main position Farke needs to be looking at.

Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell have formed an excellent midfield partnership in the side and Ethan Ampadu will no doubt have an impact on his side in the second half of the campaign as he returns to full fitness.
Therefore, if the boss wants to achieve promotion, Farke needs to keep his mind on the things that matter in the short term such as gaining attacking reinforcements after underwhelming performances from Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph this term.
