Josuha Guilavogui experiment fails drastically at Leeds United
Josuha Guilavogui was utilised as a centre-half for Leeds United against Harrogate Town but he showcased exactly why Daniel Farke cannot repeat the experiment.
The Whites just about scraped through to the next round of the FA Cup on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Harrogate Town courtesy of a Largie Ramazani goal.
However, very little credit can be afforded to Guilavogui for his role in the game having been fortunate to get away with a penalty decision in the first half.
His performance throughout the encounter left plenty to be desired and if Farke is to utilise him more often, it simply cannot be across his defence.
Guilavogui fails in Leeds United audition
The Frenchman has struggled for minutes since arriving on a free transfer and if his performance on 11 January is anything to go by, it’s clear that his influence off the pitch is better right now.
He simply looked miles off the pace of the game and a clumsy challenge in the first half went unpunished while he fell victim of gifting several set-piece opportunities to the visitors.
Guilavogui just lacked the necessary level of defensive awareness in the tie and if that were to happen in the Championship, teams have the quality to punish you and given how tightly contested the promotion race is, it could be costly.

There is every chance that the Frenchman would become susceptible to a defensive howler and for that reason alone, it seems like a midfield role has to be the only consideration for him going forward.
Thankfully, the return of Pascal Struijk means any concerns can be put on hold for now.
