Embarrassing Leeds United stat emerges as November footage of Victor Orta resurfaces on Twitter
Leeds United director of football Victor Orta will be embarrassed the club haven’t won a league game since the emergence of footage displaying his grief at fans calling to “sack the board”.
The Whites have undergone another torrid campaign in the Barclays Premier League, currently sitting just above the relegation places on 19 points, which ultimately led to the sacking of Jesse Marsch last week [6 February].
In fact, Leeds have not won a game since early November when they managed to beat Bournemouth in a 4-3 thriller thanks to a Crysencio Summerville 84th-minute strike.
Following the result, footage emerged [5 November] of Orta rejoicing over the win and displaying his disbelief and annoyance at the club’s fans calling for the club to get rid of the hierarchy, sarcastically shouting “sack the board, sack the board.”
But the Spaniard will certainly be embarrassed by a hugely worrying stat that has arisen, ever since that comical video. Leeds fan and stat man for OptaJoe, took to Twitter [14 February], to report the Whites have not won since that video was taken.
He tweeted: “Leeds United are the only team in the Premier League who haven’t won a league game since this video was taken.”
Those sarcastic cheers and remarks by Orta is not something he’d want to be watching and rejoicing over right now, considering the sorry state that club is in right now.
Currently managerless, winless since November and lacking the direction needed to steer clear of a relegation battle and secure the Premier Leagues status for next season, which means the fans have been justified in making those “sack the board” calls.
It’s made all the more damning in their current situation. Whilst those around them in the division have sacked and hired coaches to transform their lowly positions, the Whites are still mulling over their own choice having been linked with a whole host of candidates ever since Marsch’s sacking.
Instead, they’re having to entrust the squad to an Under-21 coach rather than a manager experienced enough to turn around their fortunes.

Where do the club board go from here? Who do they appoint to get them out of this sorry position? Or is Orta’s position as Leeds’ director really under threat if recent reports in the Daily Mail [10 February] are to be believed?
Whatever the situation is right now, it is certainly the club fans that are having the last laugh right now after that embarrassing footage.
