Elland Road crowd can inspire Leeds to 24-year Premier League first vs Crystal Palace

Leeds United take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday as they aim to continue their unbeaten run.

Daniel Farke looked set for the sack a few weeks ago, but the German has masterminded a complete turnaround of the Whites’ fortunes.

Leeds beat Chelsea 3-1 at Elland Road, before picking up draws against Liverpool and Brentford, scoring late equalisers in both games.

The West Yorkshire side are now three points clear of the Premier League relegation zone and will look to build that gap with a win over Palace.

Leeds on brink of Elland Road history

Leeds have been nothing short of magnificent in their last two outings at Elland Road, securing a famous win over Chelsea before holding Liverpool to a 3-3 draw.

As well as taking four points from games against the Club World Cup champions and the Premier League title holders, Farke’s side had no issue finding the back of the net.

The Whites scored three goals in both of those games, and they haven’t netted three or more in three consecutive home Premier League matches since the 2001-02 season.

If Leeds repeat their scoring heroics against Crystal Palace, then they will finally break the duck that has stood for almost 24 years.

Leeds have hidden advantage against Crystal Palace

Leeds have picked up 12 of their 16 Premier League points this season at Elland Road, and it is clear that they are a completely different prospect at home.

On top of beating Chelsea, Farke’s side have triumphed over West Ham United and Everton in West Yorkshire, as well as drawing with Bournemouth, Newcastle, and Liverpool.

The Elland Road faithful will be so crucial to Leeds’ survival hopes, and they have a real chance of avoiding an immediate return to the Championship if the supporters continue to create a superb atmosphere.

Leeds fans have the ability to drive their team on, as evidenced by the Whites’ favourable home form, and they can make an impact again as Crystal Palace come to town.

Farke’s side will be hoping to feed off the supporters this Saturday and build on their impressive recent results against Palace.
