EFL make ridiculous Dan James decision as announcement made after Leeds win
The Championship Team of the Week was released on Wednesday with the surprising omission of a Leeds United star.
The Whites beat fellow promotion chasers Middlesbrough 3-1 at Elland Road on Tuesday (10 December) with one player shining above everyone else.
Dan James was electric, constantly causing the Boro defence problems and he put the hosts back into the lead after the visitors had equalised.
It was also his cross that led to Wilfried Gnonto’s opening goal but while the Italian made the Team of the Week, the Welshman was ludicrously snubbed.
James has been on fire for Leeds United
His performance in the victory on Tuesday should have come as no surprise, the Welsh wizard has been in inspired form in the last few weeks.
The 27-year-old has notched four goals and two assists in the Championship so far this season, with four of those contributions coming in the last five matches.
His two assists were integral in the thrilling 4-3 victory over Swansea nearly three weeks ago, which felt like a huge moment in the Whites promotion push.

David Norris told MOT Leeds News that he believes that James will be back in the Premier League next season regardless of whether the Whites secure promotion or not.
The Elland Road club are seeking to avoid missing out on promotion in the same devastating fashion as last season when they lost out on the final day of the season, despite reaching the 90-point mark.
If the Welshman continues in his current vein of form it is hard to see them not doing so.
In other Leeds news, one Whites star could be axed following his poor performance against Boro.
