Data shows how Leeds fans are getting more bang for their buck than anyone else in Premier League

Leeds United fans have already witnessed some great football at Elland Road since their promotion to the Premier League.

The Whites beat Everton 1-0 in the opening fixture of the season at home after a late penalty from Lukas Nmecha.

Daniel Farke’s team have mostly been resolute at Elland Road, with Tottenham ending the Peacocks’ unbeaten run in LS11 before the international break.

There have also been games against Fulham and Bournemouth where the West Yorkshire outfit could have gained more points had it not been for stoppage-time goals, but the signs look encouraging for them.

Leeds lead the table for the percentage of total match minutes with the ball in play in the Premier League, as per Opta Analyst.

Newcastle United sit at the other end of the table, with the Magpies’ fans seeing their team with the ball in play for just 52.3 per cent of the total match minutes.

While Farke’s progressive style of play attracts mixed feelings from the Elland Road faithful, it’s clear that the German manager’s philosophy is helping the Peacocks have more time to do something in matches.

Daniel Farke has built team to create chances

Leeds would’ve been fifth in the Premier League had it been decided by xG, which shows the effectiveness of Farke’s tactics.

While the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Joel Piroe and Nmecha must do better to convert chances, it’s encouraging to know that the Whites’ creativity hardly lets them down.

It can be argued that the Peacocks create the chances that they do due to the lack of consistent stoppages in their play over 90 minutes.

There were doubts about the German manager’s ability to lead the West Yorkshire outfit in the Premier League after they won the Championship, but those worries are now being allayed.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin must do better as he joins Erling Haaland in unwanted stat

Calvert-Lewin and Erling Haaland are among players who’ve missed the most big chances in the Premier League this season.

Jean-Philippe Mateta leads the rankings, missing seven chances this season, while the Manchester City striker sits in second with six.

Calvert-Lewin makes the top five with Viktor Gyokeres and Antoine Semenyo, missing four big chances each this season.

Farke needs a reliable goalscorer in his ranks to find the back of the net consistently as the West Yorkshire outfit battle relegation.

As things stand, the West Yorkshire outfit still have a 34.95 per cent chance of dropping down to the Championship, which is why some players need to step up.
