Darko Gyabi must push for make-or-break loan move from Leeds United after transfer update
Leeds United youngster Darko Gyabi must force the opportunity to leave Elland Road on loan amid reported interest from Plymouth Argyle.
The 19-year-old has made just six senior appearances for the Whites since making the switch from Manchester City on a £5million fee in July 2022, with Kalvin Phillips going the other way, as per The Athletic.
Similar to Gyabi, the former Leeds midfielder Phillips has failed to make the desired impact at Etihad Stadium, making just 31 appearances over one-and-a-half seasons. The current Leeds midfielder should be desperate to avoid the same outcome.

While the England U20 international has been performing well for Scott Gardner’s youth team, making 34 appearances and leading by example, he has failed to make the same impression under Daniel Farke.
This is why the player must force his way out of Elland Road on loan during the January transfer window, with the opportunity to experience the highs and lows of senior football, with Plymouth fighting to avoid relegation from the Championship.
With Ethan Ampadu and Glen Kamara dictating the midfield as Farke’s preferred midfield partnership, Bulgarian Ilia Gruev is the understudy to them.

And although Archie Gray has been deputising at right-back this season, due to injuries and absences, the 17-year-old will be the one trusted in the midfield position if anything were to happen to Ampadu or Kamara.
The current situation seems to be a make-or-break for Gyabi. Without the amount of experience that Farke needs in his midfielders, the youngster needs the Plymouth loan move to push his way up the pecking order at Elland Road.
Otherwise, Gyabi may never reach the ceiling at Leeds that everyone knows he is definitely capable of, and show exactly why the club paid £5million for him two summers ago.
