Daniel Farke won’t be impressed at Premier League announcement for Brentford vs Leeds
Leeds United take on Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday, but they have already received some bad news ahead of the contest.
Daniel Farke’s side go into the game on a high, after Ao Tanaka’s 96th-minute equaliser secured them a 3-3 draw with Liverpool on Saturday night.
Just three days before that, Leeds had beaten Chelsea 3-1 at Elland Road, with goals from Tanaka, Jaka Bijol and Dominic Calvert-Lewin securing the win.
Those two recent results have eased the sack pressure on Farke, and lifted the Whites out of the Premier League relegation zone and up to 16th.

Daniel Farke has history with referee John Brooks
The Premier League has announced the team of officials who will take charge of Leeds’ trip to Brentford on 14 December.
John Brooks will be the referee in West London, while Michael Salisbury and Tim Robinson will be on VAR duty back at Stockley Park.
However, Farke will be less than impressed with the decision to appoint Brooks as the man in the middle for the Whites’ visit to the Gtech Community Stadium.
Back in 2020, when the German was in charge of Norwich, he took issue with a penalty that Brooks had awarded against his side.
The referee pointed to the spot after adjudging that Canaries midfielder Oliver Skipp had pulled down Ben Davies in the box.
Speaking after the game, Farke said: “It was never a penalty in my opinion. It was just the smallest player on the pitch trying to win the ball against a big centre-half,” (SportsMole).
Leeds have bad memories of John Brooks
Sunday will mark the first time Brooks has taken charge of a Leeds game since the 2024 Championship play-off final against Southampton.
It’s safe to say that the Whites don’t have the best memories of that day, as they were denied promotion to the Premier League by Adam Armstrong’s 24th-minute winner at Wembley.
Leeds bounced back brilliantly from the disappointment of play-off final defeat, though, securing their route into the top-flight by winning the Championship title last season.
The Elland Road outfit will hope that Brooks has no bearing on the outcome of their clash with Brentford, and that they can continue their good form in the Premier League.
