Daniel Farke will not be happy as £13.8m Leeds target starts despite transfer claims
Leeds United don’t have a lot of time left to sign more players for Daniel Farke this transfer window.
Former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin became Leeds’ eighth addition of the summer, but the German manager will arguably want more depth in certain areas of the pitch.
Elland Road will host David Moyes’ team on 18 August in the Premier League, and fans will be excited to see some of the new players in action.
While the English top flight has started, there are still a couple of weeks left until deadline day, and some incomings and outgoings should still be expected in LS11, although the West Yorkshire outfit may have to rule one of their targets out.

Leeds United target James Justin injured in Preston North End vs Leicester City
James Justin started for Leicester City against Preston North End at Deepdale on Saturday.
In the Foxes’ 2-1 defeat on 16 August, the 27-year-old was forced off due to an injury and replaced by Hamza Choudhury.
The extent of the English right-back’s knock isn’t known yet, but if it’s serious, then his move to Elland Road this summer can surely be ruled out.
- Justin signed for Leicester City in 2019.
- The 27-year-old suffered an ACL injury in the 2021/22 campaign.
- Last season, the right-back played 36 times in the Premier League.
Daniel Farke wanted a replacement for Isaac Schmidt before the Whites sanctioned the Swiss defender’s exit, and Justin may have been a candidate.
Leeds have been linked with the Leicester defender recently, and the West Yorkshire outfit were advancing in their bid to sign the Englishman, who could potentially cost £13.8million in transfer fee and wages.
The German manager could potentially be fuming with the Foxes’ decision to risk the 27-year-old right back against Preston while the Peacocks were in talks to sign him.

Schmidt future at Elland Road assessed
Schmidt could potentially have one eye on the 2026 World Cup with a place in Switzerland’s national team up for grabs.
It would make sense for the 25-year-old to want to play regularly in the 2025/26 campaign, which seems unlikely at Leeds due to Jayden Bogle’s presence.
The Swiss right-back played just 71 minutes in the Championship for the Whites last season, and now his prospects in the Premier League arguably look bleak.
If Justin’s apparent injury prevents him from signing for the West Yorkshire outfit, Farke may be forced to keep Schmidt, as he undoubtedly needs options in the backline.
