Daniel Farke will brace himself after latest update on Leeds United gem Daniel James

Daniel Farke will likely be on edge when Wales take on Iceland in their Nations League clash on Tuesday evening as Leeds United ace Dan James is set to start.

The attacker was only used as a second-half substitute in the 0-0 stalemate versus Turkey on 16 November but, as Craig Bellamy is known to rotate his team, the Whites’ ace could be used from the off in midweek.

The clash on Tuesday (19 November) is a must-win fixture for Wales, but the fact that Leeds’ next game is just five days later will no doubt be a cause for concern for Farke.

Speaking live on Sky Sports News (18 November, 11:49am), Sky journalist Geraint Hughes shared an update on James’ playing status.

“Dan James didn’t start at the weekend but there’s a really good chance he could do [against Iceland]. Craig Bellamy has made no secret about how he likes to rotate against different opponents.”

Dan James needs to return to Leeds United unscathed

The 2024/25 season has once again been one that had been riddled with injuries for the Welshman.

While he started in the first few games of the Whites’ season, since then his appearances have been few and far between due to his fitness.

On his day, James can be one of Farke’s most dangerous players and if they want to have a good go at getting automatic promotion, the German needs the attacker to be fit.

Manor Solomon’s domestic form has left a lot to be desired. Even though his performances for Israel have been stellar, something just hasn’t quite clicked since his return from injury, hence Leeds’ need for James to return unscathed.

Only time will tell what the future holds for James but one thing is for sure, the last thing the Whites need after the international break is to be without one of their star men.
