Daniel Farke will be ecstatic at Leeds United after Brenden Aaronson development with USA

Daniel Farke can breathe a sigh of relief at Leeds United after Brenden Aaronson only clocked 20 minutes of game time for the USA in the 4-2 win against Jamaica.

The 24-year-old played in the 2-0 loss against Mexico in the October international break only hours before the Whites faced Sheffield United in a top-of-the-table clash at Elland Road.

However, Farke will be eternally grateful to Mauricio Pochettino as the USA boss only introduced Aaronson for the final 20 minutes at City Park in the early hours of Tuesday morning [19 November].

Aaronson had become a worry for Leeds after his absence for the first leg of the CONCACAF Nations League on Thursday [15 November], but he was only missing due to “flu-like symptoms.”

He will now be ready to return to Elland Road ahead of a crucial Championship period, starting with Sunday’s [24 November] clash with Swansea City.

Brenden Aaronson has found a new lease of life at Leeds United

Farke has performed a superb job of overturning his side’s fortunes in the Championship this season after an inconsistent start – the Whites are now only two points adrift of league leaders Sunderland and Sheffield United.

Aaronson thanked the Leeds faithful for welcoming him with open arms following his return from a loan spell with Union Berlin and for “pushing him” to new heights this season.

The American international has undoubtedly taken his game to a new level in the Championship and has reinstated himself as a key figure for the side with five-goal contributions already this term.

His determination to make up for lost time at Elland Road is commendable, and Farke will be relieved he can rely on Aaronson for the gruelling run-in to the New Year.

The international break arrived at the worst possible time for the Whites; heading into the break, they were one of the most in-form sides in the division with just one loss in their last 10 outings.

While Aaronson is still some way away from the 30-goal contribution target he has set for the campaign, his creative impact in the number 10 role has helped his side unlock stern opposition, and he will be a crucial factor for the Premier League hopefuls.
