Daniel Farke will be buzzing at Leeds United after ‘Havoc’ update in int’l break

Daniel Farke will be pleased to have three of his key players back at Leeds United after international duty earlier than they did last month.

Ao Tanaka, Junior Firpo and Brenden Aaronson did not report for training at Thorp Arch until less than 48 hours before the Whites’ home game against Sheffield United on 18 October – a situation described as “havoc” by Beren Cross in LeedsLive on Tuesday, 12 November.

While all three of them are away on international duty again, they are expected to return earlier and have enough time to recover for Leeds’ trip to Swansea on 24 November.

Tanaka, who completed the full 90 minutes for Japan against Australia three days before the clash with Sheffield United last month, should have four days to rest and prepare for the match against Swansea as the Blue Samurai face China at 2 pm on 19 November in their second and final game of the international break.

Similarly, Aaronson can also return earlier as he finishes his national team duty with the United States early morning on 19 November.

Firpo, meanwhile, will have to wait at least until 20 November morning to fly back to Yorkshire as the Dominican Republic lock horns with Bermuda at 11 pm the previous night. However, Farke will not be too bothered as the left-back is suspended anyway.

Wales hosting Iceland at 7:45 pm on 19 November means that Joe Rodon and Dan James could be the last key players to start their journey back. However, their travel time is significantly shorter than the aforementioned trio, who would be jetting back from different continents.

Farke will be grateful that Leeds United’s first game after the international break is on a Sunday as it gives the likes of Tanaka and Aaronson more time to recover after their exhausting flights.
