Daniel Farke to ‘channel the spirit of Revie’ in Leeds United promotion push

Daniel Farke has had a strong season with Leeds United this term and sitting at the top of the Championship means the Whites are well on the way to what had been hoped at Elland Road at the start of the season.

There is still plenty of football to be played but, with his side unbeaten in 12 league games, the boss will be feeling positive about his side’s chances of promotion.

It was a quiet transfer window in West Yorkshire as Farke put his trust in the players he already has in his ranks, causing little disruption at Elland Road.

The Whites will now be putting their focus into the remainder of the campaign and a game against Coventry City on Wednesday (5 February).

Journalist Adam Pope has backed the boss to succeed in his aims, comparing his methods to Don Revie as he wrote on BBC Sport: “Conviction, confidence and courage were the three Cs which Don Revie would ask of his players when they took to the field. He put his faith in a tight band of players. Farke has the same trust in his.”

Daniel Farke to get Leeds United where they want to be

Some may feel it’s a big call making a comparison between Farke and Revie given the history associated with the latter at Elland Road.

However, as Pope says, there are certainly similarities between the two managers and you can see the ways in which the current boss is channelling the spirit of Revie in his work in West Yorkshire.

While there is plenty of football to be played, which means the Whites can’t rest on the success they have had so far, they are a side who look confident in their abilities and confident in one another to continue getting the results that will push their bid for promotion.

Leeds United fans
Leeds fans do not like Chelsea.

Should the German complete the job he was set at Leeds, he will surely go down as a well-loved boss at Elland Road having delivered the success alongside exciting football and a core group of players to get behind.

Supporters will certainly feel as though more success at the club is due and the current man in charge seems to be the one who can deliver this.

In other Leeds news, the Whites have made a “massive loss” on one player whose exit was confirmed in the last few days.
