Daniel Farke to axe Solomon, two changes – Leeds United predicted XI v Luton

Daniel Farke could drop Manor Solomon from the Leeds United starting XI when they face Luton Town at Elland Road on Wednesday.

Solomon scored twice in the Whites’ 4-3 victory over Swansea City on Sunday [24 November], but could lose his place to Wilfried Gnonto on 27 November as games start to come thick and fast.

Joel Piroe, meanwhile, is likely to drop to the bench after failing to impress in Wales, with Mateo Joseph possibly taking his place.

Daniel Farke to make two changes for Leeds United v Luton

There are increasing shouts for Karl Darlow to be given a chance ahead of Illan Meslier after the Frenchman seemed to be at fault for Liam Cullen’s goal for Swansea, but it is hard to see that happening on Wednesday.

Maximilian Wober made his first league appearance of the season, coming on as a substitute. While it should only be a matter of time before the Austrian resumes starting games for Leeds United, Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk are expected to keep their places against Luton.

There is no reason to believe there will be any changes at right-back, with Jayden Bogle more than likely to keep his place. Sam Byram is expected to continue playing at left-back despite Isaac Schmidt raring for a chance in Junio Firpo’s absence.

Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanaka have held the fort for the Elland Road outfit in midfield in Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev’s absence. Josuha Guilavogui might be handed a rare start at some point over the next few weeks, but that is unlikely to be against Luton.

Dan James was on red-hot form against Swansea, grabbing three assists, including for Ben Cabango’s own goal, and will keep his place on the right wing.

Brenden Aaronson’s performance in Wales left much to be desired, but it is hard to see anyone else taking his place for the time being.

Solomon dropping out is unexpected given his goals, but with his injury issues and the sheer number of games coming up, Farke is being smart with his selections.
