Daniel Farke sacking inevitable if Leeds do not achieve feat for first time in 54 years vs Nottingham Forest

Daniel Farke’s job is under pressure, and the Leeds United manager may need a victory against Nottingham Forest on Sunday to save his job.

Up against the Reds, who currently sit 19th in the Premier League, many of the travelling fans will be expecting a result.

However, with numerous poor recent performances, including a terrible 3-0 defeat to Brighton last weekend, Farke is already facing calls for the sack at Leeds.

Therefore, the match against Nottingham Forest has already become a must-win.

Leeds have not won a top-flight game at the City Ground since 1971

Leeds’ recent luck against Nottingham Forest has not been good, resulting in numerous poor results over the years.

However, according to BBC Sport on 6 November, if Farke were to achieve a victory on Sunday, he would become the first Leeds manager to win a top-flight game at the City Ground since 1971.

Not only would this be an impressive streak for Farke to end on Sunday, but it could also help relieve the ever-growing pressure on the manager.

Leeds have a terrible run of matches approaching after the international break, and the Forest game may be the German manager’s best chance to pick up a win before Christmas.

Leeds have a terrible fixture list before Christmas

With the Peacocks only winning one of their last five matches, if this is extended further, Farke’s position will be untenable.

However, a win against Forrest would ensure Leeds pull clear of the relegation zone, buying time for the manager ahead of this difficult run.

Daniel Farke has only beaten Sean Dyche once

Going into the match, it will be the fifth meeting between Farke and Sean Dyche.

However, the Englishman has usually managed to get the Leeds manager.

Farke has only ever beaten Dyche once, with the Forest boss coming out on top twice, while the other game ended in a draw.

Therefore, the Leeds manager will be looking to fix this record on Sunday.
