Daniel Farke risks losing Jaka Bijol at Leeds United in January after angry admission

Jaka Bijol could soon be looking for the exit door at Leeds United as Daniel Farke sets aim on Premier League survival.

The Slovenia international signed for the Whites in the summer for around £18.7million as Adam Underwood looked to build a squad capable of avoiding relegation.

Bijol has been a bit-part player at Elland Road, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the centre-back knocking on the German manager’s door sooner rather than later.

Joe Rodon has been a key player for Farke this season, and his partnership with Pascal Struijk has dominated the Peacocks’ starting lineup in the current campaign, leaving little room for rotation.

Jaka Bijol unhappy with Leeds United situation

Bijol isn’t pleased with his lack of game time at Leeds after completing a big-money move to LS11 in the previous transfer window.

The Slovenia international understands that what he’s going through at Elland Road is just part and parcel of being a footballer, but nevertheless, he wants things to change.

With the defender desperate for his opportunity at the West Yorkshire outfit, it remains to be seen whether Farke listens to him.

Speaking to Ekipa on 6 October, Bijol said: “I am certainly not happy with the current situation. There are always ups and downs. There are always slightly worse situations. You have to get over them as a footballer. I am sure that my opportunity will come at Leeds. I hope as soon as possible.”

Struijk was attracting interest at Elland Road in the summer, but the Dutchman ended up staying and has continued to play a key role for the German manager this season.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the former Udinese defender angling for a move away from the Peacocks in January if opportunities continue to remain scarce.

Daniel Farke to prioritise Premier League survival at Elland Road

Farke’s team are predicted to survive relegation despite losing to Tottenham on 4 October, and that’s what the priority should be in LS11.

The German manager’s sole aim at Leeds is to retain their Premier League status and make them a force to be reckoned with once again.

While Bijol has every right to be angry about his situation at the Whites, the good of the team takes precedence over a player.

As long as Rodon and Struijk are performing well, there’s no need for Farke to tinker with the backline.
