Daniel Farke reveal showcases why 49ers are making a major error at Leeds

Daniel Farke is a lucky man to be still in charge of Leeds United.

With the international break upon us, now would be the perfect time for the 49ers to sack Farke, as a result of Leeds’ lacklustre start to the season.

However, it was reported on Monday that Farke has the backing of the Leeds owners, who look increasingly unlikely to pull the trigger on the German anytime soon.

That in itself seemed like a huge mistake, and it is only made to look worse by the fact that Farke is contributing to Leeds’ biggest issue.

Away form has been dreadful for Leeds

Leeds’ 3-1 victory against Wolves is the only time they have won on the road this season, with their away form a major worry.

Only Forest, Fulham and Wolves have picked up fewer points on their travels than the Whites, though this is not an unfamiliar issue for Farke.

Throughout his career in the Premier League, the German has only ever managed three wins away from home, with only nine victories in total.

Prior to Leeds’ triumph against Wolves, a side managed by Farke, last won away from home in the Premier League back in 2021.

His record in the Premier League has seen his teams average just 0.62 points per game, which when totalled throughout a full campaign, would result in 23 points.

Who would replace Daniel Farke?

If Farke is sacked, which, in all honesty, still feels like only a matter of time, Leeds will be able to attract some decent managers to Elland Road.

However, it will all depend on the situation when that scenario comes around.

Carlos Corberan is in contention for a return to Leeds United, while names such as Steven Gerrard and Marco Rose have also been mentioned.

Ideally, Leeds need a manager who has been there and done it towards the bottom half of the Premier League, with a track record of avoiding relegation.

That has to be the goal for the Whites this season, with room to build further down the line.
